What does a lifetime of music sound like in the hands of a pianist who has performed across 100 countries?

Join us for an intimate concert and conversation with Roman Rudnytsky. His musical world reaches across centuries and borders, from the structure and clarity of Bach to the expressive colors of Romantic piano music and the distinctive voices of the twentieth century. Born into a Ukrainian family of musicians, Rudnytsky brings a personal connection to that tradition alongside the perspective gained from decades of performing for audiences around the world.

Following the performance, we will speak with Rudnytsky about the music, the people who shaped him, and the places his career has taken him. Guests may then continue the conversation over an optional seated dinner.

Roman Rudnytsky

Pianist Roman Rudnytsky has spent a lifetime bringing classical music to audiences around the world. Born in New York City to Ukrainian composer and conductor Antin Rudnytsky and opera singer Mariia Sokil, he grew up surrounded by music before studying at the Juilliard School.

A prizewinner in ten national and international piano competitions, including the Leventritt Competition, Rudnytsky has performed in 100 countries. His concerts and masterclasses have taken him from established concert halls to communities reached through programs arranged by U.S. embassies. Among his notable performances were the British, Latin American, and Australian premieres of Liszt’s rediscovered Piano Concerto No. 3 in E-flat.

Rudnytsky is Professor Emeritus at Youngstown State University’s Dana School of Music. At the piano and in conversation, he brings an uncommon breadth of experience to the music he shares.
