Roosevelt Library Social Club

Established 2016

The art of conversation and the exchange of ideas in the pursuit of knowledge and fellowship.

The Roosevelt Library Social Club was founded in April of 2016 in the spirit of the ancient Greek agora and Enlightenment salon culture which strengthens community by revitalizing the art of conversation, fostering the exchange of ideas and meaningful social interaction in a physical space. The Roosevelt Library Social Club’s mission is to contribute to the betterment of humanity by creating a stimulating intellectual environment and poetic experiences that re-enchants the world and advances principles of participatory democracy through sustained discourse and new encounters in the collective pursuit of knowledge and fellowship. Members feel the Club has a welcoming and inclusive philosophy and consider the Club a home away from home. As a social club, the events schedule continues to be of the utmost importance and new events are regularly introduced. The Club hosts Member Receptions throughout the year, every other Monday, as well as special events, many of which have an emphasis toward art, architecture, and music.
